Enjoy the scenic 30-minute drive from the Lihue airport to Poipu experiencing the “Tunnel of Trees”, known as the gateway to the South Shore, and ultimately landing at Old Koloa Town, home to Hawaii’s first sugar mill.

A collection of the island’s finest hotels, resorts, vacation rentals and residential homes provide the ideal base camp for residents and visitors on Kauai. Fresh seafood and organic produce fill the local markets and restaurants providing healthy and delicious options. Centrally located on the island, Poipu provides easy access to the neighboring communities of Kalaheo, Hanapepe, Waimea and Koke’e and makes for simple day trips to the north shore.

 

What is Poipu Beach Foundation?

The Poipu Beach Foundation (PBF) is a non-profit charitable organization, formed in 2000. Its primary purposes are to enhance the social, cultural and physical environment of Kauai and in particular, Kauai’s south shore. It serves as a resource of information for residents and visitors about Poipu including – celebrating the Hawaiian culture, supporting infrastructure and smart development, stewarding attractions and sharing local business information.

The PBF is governed by a Board of Directors and is funded by grants and sponsorships. Sponsors include businesses and organizations primarily based on the south shore, as well as neighboring organizations and businesses, that all work together to tell Kauai’s south shore story.

Our mission is to provide valuable destination support which produces a positive & safe environment, ensuring a respectful experience for our visitors, community and sponsors.
