The Poipu Beach Resort Association (PBRA) will host the 2nd Annual Poipu Food & Wine Festival, from November 8th through November 12th. The five-day event will celebrate Kauai’s diverse culinary resources and talents, while supporting the Culinary Arts Program at Kauai Community College (KCC). Events include:
Poipu Culinary Market | Wednesday, November 8th | 3:30pm – 6:00pm
Hawaiian regional cuisine is blossoming and every Wednesday the Kauai Culinary Market is hosted by The Shops at Kukui`ula in partnership with the Kauai County Farm Bureau from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the traditional pau hana (after work) style. Live island music fills the air; fresh, locally-grown fruits, vegetables and coffee, along with spices, jams and cheeses fill farmers’ stands. South shore chefs take the stage at the Wine and Beer Garden to show their skill cooking local specialties.
Unique to the November 8th market, Kauai Community College (KCC) Culinary Arts Program faculty and students appear as special guests at this weekly market. The culinary demonstration at 5:00pm will feature KCC students as they prepare tantalizing local specialties utilizing Kaua’i grown ingredients while showcasing their skills. FREE with plates available for purchase, proceeds to benefit KCC.
In the Kitchen | Thursday, November 9th | 10am – 4pm – various classes
Participate in a hands-on cooking class with some of Poipu’s top chefs in their own restaurant. Classes at $50 per person will be limited in size and include a tasting and commemorative gift.
Flavors of Poipu | Friday, November 10th | 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Groove to the music of top island artists, while enjoying local delicacies served street-food style along with outdoor beer and wine gardens at this festive pau hana party at the Shops at Kukui`ula. This Flavors features Chefs as the “headliners” with culinary demonstrations by Kauai’s Best Bartender spotlighting Koloa Rum concoctions, & Chef Ben of The Club at Kukui‘ula with Waimea High School Culinary Team. Demonstrations beginning at 5:30pm. FREE with food for purchase.
Let’s Do Brunch | Sunday, November 12th | 8:30am – 10:30am
A special fundraising event for the KCC Culinary Arts Program where some of Kauai’s finest chefs will join together in creating a delicious outdoor brunch at Poipu Golf Course, Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. Enjoy specialties of, Grand Hyatt Kauai’s Ilima Terrace, Keoki’s Paradise, Koa Kea Resort, Lappert’s Hawaii, Living Foods Gourmet Market, Café & Juice Bar, The Wine Shop and more.
Each attendee will receive signature recipe cards from the chefs participating in the Poipu Food & Wine Festival. Tickets $100 per person ($75 without alcohol).
Poipu Food & Wine Festival Commemorative Recipe Cards
Commemorative recipe cards are being designed specifically for the Poipu Food & Wine Festival. Recipes will highlight the Chefs of Poipu and their culinary creations, using some of the freshest ingredients available locally.
